Rama-X bridge in Bangkok - Thailand
كوبري راما 8 - تايلاند

A tender deign for Rama-X bridge in Bangkok was carried by SBP in joint venture with Fa. Zublin and other contractor. The Basic design of the Rama X-bridge is a non-symmetric cable stayed bridge with a single pylon on the west river bank in Bangkok. The Rama-X bridge passes over a navigational channel with a main span of ca. 290 m. The bridge is stabilised with his 175 m- back-span using back-anchor cables. The bridge deck has a width of 25 m in the main span and 21 m in the back-span. The 18-cable stays have a semi-fan-order in the main span as well as in the back span and anchored to the pylon head with spacing of 4 m for all considered alternatives. The contribution of Dr. Saad was to do a FE- static and dynamic analysis for all alternatives and to design the bridge deck in the main span, the concrete pylon and the cable system.
