The Kilo 68 bridge is two roadway bridges lies on the highway road connecting Cairo and Alexandria in Egypt. It is an interchange on the new regional road locates around Cairo, This bridge is the interchange of the regional road with Cairo – Alexandria desert road at 68 KM with a total length of 120m. The 4 spans bridge consist of pre-cast prestressed beams of 28.30m span supported on temporary bearings on archetictual columns. Above columns a special cast in-situ joints are constructed to connect the precast beams in order to decrease the beams depth (Continous system). After constructing the joint which supported on permenant bearings, the temporary bearings are removed. The two separated bridge decks are 23.00m each.
